Known for his ability to capture emotion and movement in marble and bronze, Rodin was also highly regarded for his drawings through which he created ethereal, almost sketchy but highly expressive figures. He had a lasting impact on modern sculpture, influencing many 20th century artists such as Constantin Brâncusi and Henry Moore. Considered the precursor of expressionism, he pioneered a more subjective and psychological approach to human representation in sculpture and graphic art. Today, the Rodin Museum in Paris houses many of his most significant works, along with drawings and sketches, offering an in-depth look at one of the most extraordinary figures of modern art.
