Rare original and unique work by the artist representing a lion in charcoal on paper. Signed lower left. XXth century. Size lŐĎuvre : H: 35; L: 43 cm Auguste Trmont was born in 1892 in Luxembourg. He was a painter and sculptor who studied at the Ecole nationale des Arts dcoratifs in Paris. A great lover of the Jardin des Plantes, and in particular its magerie, he developed a passion for animal sculpture, in which he became a specialist. His most famous and emblematic sculpture is the pair of lions adorning the entrance to the Luxembourg town hall.
