AUGUSTIN (Saint). De Trinitate. [Basel, Johann Amerbach, 1490]. - De civitate Dei]. [Ibid. 1490]. 2 works in a folio volume, stiff vellum, spine ribbed, spotted edges (Old binding). Second of two editions published by Johann Amerbach of these two masterpieces by Augustine of Hippo, enriched with additions by Sébastien Brant and, in The City of God, commentary by Thomas Waleys and Nicholas Trivet. The first edition was published a year earlier. Remarkable Basel incunabulum printed in Gothic on two columns. Copy partially rubricated in yellow with old handwritten annotations in the margins of certain chapters. The end of De Trinitate (m3-6) is missing 4 ff. and De civitate Dei is incomplete by 16 ff. at the beginning and end of the work (a1-4/7-10 and O1-8) and has a significant lack of text on 6 ff.
