Histoire de la vie de St. Sigisbert, roy d'Austrasie, duquel le corps sainct se voit entier à Nancy, contenant une succincte description de la Lorraine et de la ville de Nancy, capitale de ce duché. Nancy, [Jacob Garnich] at the author's expense, 1616. In-8, red morocco, triple gilt fillet, spine decorated with petit fers, inner lace, gilt edges (M. Lortic). "The genealogy, history and miracles of Saint Sigisbert, son of Dagobert I, king of France, occupy only the first twelve chapters and the end of the volume [in the appendix entitled Miracles de S. Sigisbert roy d'Austrasie]. The remainder contains a brief description of the duchy of Lorraine; a history of the city of Nancy and its primatial church [...]; finally, a genealogy of the house of Lenoncourt, from Drogon de Nancei, from whom it descended, to Antoine de Lenoncourt, primate of Lorraine, to whom Aulbery dedicated his work. It contains some particulars about the house of Lorraine, which the author descends from Godefroy de Bouillon, about the nobility of the country and about the origin of the religious houses that existed in Nancy at the beginning of the 17th century", writes Beaupré in his Recherches sur les commencements de l'imprimerie en Lorraine. The author was secretary to Duke Charles III of Lorraine. A very fine copy, carefully bound by Marcellin Lortic. From the libraries of the college of Clermont (Collegii Parisiens. Societ. Jesu) and of the abbey of Dommartin after the expulsion of the Jesuits (Bibliothecæ Dompmartinensis 1764), with ex-libris and symbol ΦΔ surrounded by three handwritten fermesses on the title. Head margin a little short but without damage to the print, leaves uniformly foxed, brown stain on pp. 231-235. Beaupré, 309 - Répertoire XVIIe, X, 119, n°43.
