Extremely high-quality Empire silver coffee pot, fully gilt. Slightly ascending round foot, merging into an egg-shaped body with a narrowed, slender neck. Masterfully sculpted, curved spout in the shape of a dolphin with a finely chiselled head as a spout. Hinged lid with a central peg knob above a leaf rosette in relief. Ebonised wooden ear handles, the upper base with a finely cast ram's head, the lower base ending in a Medusa head. Marked, hallmark, 950 guarantee mark Paris 1819-1838, master Marc-Augustin Lebrun (active since 1821). Weight approx. 795 g. H. 25 cm. Several other objects by this master are in the Louvre in Paris.
