Extremely rare Meissen figurine group "The Quack" Depicted on an irregular oval base covered with flowers and leaves, a doctor or market crier in elegant clothing standing next to a small table with an open book, on which a monkey is tampering with medicines and utensils, while a harlequin brings bags of herbs. Fine polychrome painting. Designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler, 1741, probably inspired by an engraving by Sutton Nicholls, "The Quack-Doctor, Outwitted", London, c. 1710, Wellcome Library, inv. no. 20542i.
