Extremely rare pair of baroque silver chandeliers. Square, softly stepped, rising stand with recessed corners. Eight-facetted baluster stem rising from a moulded base with a vase-shaped spout. Engraved dedication and date on the stand. "Ehrensvärd Douglas 1905" on the stand. Marked, tremolier line, hallmark, master Georg Wilhelm Dedeke (becomes master 1733), year letter "B". Total weight approx. 415 g. H. 14.3 cm.
Georg Wilhelm Dedeke is the youngest son of the famous court goldsmith in Hanover Lewin Dedeke (1660-1733), whose works can be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Bomann Museum in Celle, among others.
