South Australia, 1868-1879, 3 PENCE on 4d ultramarine, overprint omitted, two separate mint copies forming a vertical pair on the left side of the sheet. The top copy is without gum, the bottom copy with partial gum. The top copy has minor flaws, the bottom copy is in fine condition. The pair has been reconstituted with small hinges, allowing part of the watermark to be seen. These are the only two new examples in private hands, the third known example is in the collection of the Crown of England. A great rarity in the collection of Australia and the English Colonies.
