The town of Innsbruck draped and crowned, with a shield bearing the arms of the Empire receiving Hymenaeus disembarking from a ship, holding a torch and a shield bearing the arms of Spain; in the exergue: NUPT. CELEB. OENIP. / D. 22. IUL. 1765; signature I. W. Montenuovo 1945 (AR) - Forrer VI p.468 - Julius 2531 - MHE 484 ; Gold - 12.17 g - 29 mm - 12 h NGC MS 63 PL (8217521-001). Flan burnished appearance (PROOFLIKE). Some micro-scratches in the mirror fields, the reliefs are satiny. Rare in this metal. Superb in Fleur de coin. Reputed to be by Anton Franz Widemann, this medal bears a signature I.W. We also note that the date indicated on the medal is 22 July 1765, probably the date initially planned for the wedding, which finally took place on 4 or 5 August 1765 according to sources.
