Der vierarmige Bodhisattva der Barmherzigkeit hält die Haupthände in namaskara vor der Brust erhoben, die dritte Hand hält einen Lotos, die vierte hielt ursprünglich eine Mala, gekleidet in ein Dhoti und Schal und geschmückt mit prächtigen Juwelen und Krone, hinter der eine Miniaturfigur des Buddha Amitabha hervor schaut. Sockel verschlossen. 20,3 cm Provenienz Privatsammlung, Niederlande, erworben bei Christie´s, Amsterdam, 11.10.1994, Lot 183 A Tibetochinese gilt bronze figure of Avalokiteshvara Shadakshari. Ming dynasty, 16th century His principal hands folded in front of his chest, holding a lotus in his secondary left hand, the mala in his secondary right is missing, wearing a dhoti, an elaborate belt and necklace with beaded festoons, and a cape billowing around his shoulders and arms, adorned with various jewellery, the hair fashioned into a chignon centred by the image of his spiritual father Amitabha behind an elaborate tiara.
