A very fine Elzévirienne edition of these two fundamental works by Francis Bacon: Sylva Sylvarum, published posthumously in 1627, in the Latin translation by Jacob Gruter, and La Nouvelle Atlantide, which is said to have been translated into Latin by Bacon himself.
