This very luminous ring features a central emerald surrounded by two old mine-cut diamonds. This old mine cut, used since the 18th century, is perfectly imperfect! Very often, the facets are approximate, the collar is not centred, the table is small and the crown very high, but none of this is serious, as this is an old mine cut, not subject to the rigours of the 4 Cs, today's criteria for brilliant round cuts. Mines from the old mine cut period mainly produce yellowish colours. That's why the M colour, or even below, rather than being a negative parameter, is an indicator that these diamonds are period diamonds, and they're coming back into fashion! In fact, the reflection of light in an old mine diamond has a softness that is much sought after by connoisseurs.
