Later frog and button, mounted in silver Weight: 58 grams Fairly good condition With Paul Childs certificate of August 2009: I certify that the violin bow described below was made in my opinion by Francois, Xavier Tourte in Paris circa 1780. There is a notch under the fittings, the end of the stick is not made by Tourte. The stick is round and 72.75 cm long. It is a dark orange-brown pernambuco of excellent quality. The headstock is typical of Tourte's work from this period. The frog is made of ebony with a silver loop and has a mother-of-pearl pastille on each side. The knob is made in three parts with a double groove. The frog and button are of recent manufacture and made especially for this bow in its own style. The bow is currently in good condition.
