BALZAC (Honoré de). Eugénie Grandet. Paris, Les Amis des livres, 1883. In-8, navy blue morocco, boards bordered with a geometrical decoration composed of 2 series of lines of 5 gilt fillets each and a single fillet, ornate spine, red morocco lining decorated with a frame composed of gilt roulette and fillets, double blue satin and marbled paper endpaper, gilt edges on witnesses, cover, folder and slipcase (Mercier, sr de Cuzin). Edition illustrated with 8 plates etched by Paul-Edme Le Rat after drawings by the painter Pascal Dagnan-Bouveret. Edition at 120 copies with the figures in double state, including the pure etching, this one of the first hundred by name. A very fine copy in a splendid lined binding by Mercier. From the library of Antoine Vautier (1977, n°209 ), with bookplate.
