Alençon, Poulet-Malassis et De Broise, 1857; in-16 of [4)]-xx-243-[1] pp. half calf glossy mustard with corners, spine ribbed decorated with cold boxes, gilt head, slipcase. First edition of Banville's most sought-after collection, with a frontispiece engraved by Bracquemond after Voillemot and a folded music plate.
Enriched with two autograph letters, each 2 pages long, to Catulle Mendès, dated 1886 and 1888, in which Banville quotes Hugo and Flaubert.
