Baroque mug with coat of arms and monogram of Carl Heinrich II von Schönburg(-Forderglauchau)
Colourless, slightly greyish glass with a crack in the base. Matte-cut decoration, with the count's coat of arms on the front. H. 12.7 cm.
Carl Heinrich II von Schönburg (1729 - 1800), who came from the Saxon-Thuringian aristocratic family, took over the government of the Wechselburg dominion in 1753 and the additional dominions of Forderglauchau (Penig and Wechselburg parts) and Penig in 1763. Among the descendants of the Imperial Count is Mariae Gloria Princess ("Fürstin") von Thurn und Taxis (born 1960 as Countess von Schönburg-Glauchau).
Provenance: according to the previous owner, acquired from the noble family of the Counts of Schönburg-Glauchau.
