BRONZE BASTET Egyptian art, Late Period, 664-332 BC Statuette of the cat goddess Bastet standing on a rectangular base, dressed in a long spindle robe with engraved motifs, holding a leontocephalic aegis representing Sekhmet in her left hand and a sistrum in her right. In the crook of her left arm hangs a round basket. Brown patina. Height 10.5 cm high Origin : Former French private collection, acquired in the 1980s from a Parisian antique dealer. Then by descent to the current owner An Egyptian bronze statuette of Bastet, Late Period, 664-332 B.C.
