Lot no. 12
BAUDELAIRE Charles (1821-1867). Les Fleurs du mal. Paris, Dorbon aîné, 1930; small in-4 ff, cover, folder and slipcase. Very well established edition by Pierre Dufay with preface, decorated with a portrait of Baudelaire by Rassenfosse. ☞ Edition of 1000 copies, this one of the 50 first copies on Japon impérial with the portrait in two states: in sepia and in black, both proofs signed. It has been enriched with 20 original wash and watercolour drawings, sometimes full-page, sometimes in the blanks of the text. The drawings, full of movement and expression, are in a very good hand, but unfortunately they are not signed.
