Two other titles contained previously unpublished works and appeared in volumes for the first time: Les Curiosités esthétiques and l'Art romantique. Portrait engraved by Nargeot after Chardin. One of the precious and exceptional copies on Hollande, well bound by Canape. "A few copies were printed on Hollande (...) This remarkable set is very rare" according to Carteret. At the end of Volume I, the series is enriched by the Complément aux Fleurs du Mal, a compilation of the condemned works printed in Brussels in 1869 after the 1857 conviction and the mutilation of many copies.
