First collective edition, partly original and "extremely important", according to Clouzot, since it includes in first edition part of the Fleurs du Mal, the Petits poëmes en prose, the Curiosités esthétiques (except for the two Salons already published), and L'Art romantique (except for Gautier and Wagner). It was published by Charles Asselineau and Théodore de Banville, with a portrait of Baudelaire engraved on metal by Adrien Nargeot. The third edition of Les Fleurs du Mal includes 25 poems added from the second edition, but not the condemned pieces. For this reason, this copy has been enriched with the Complément aux Fleurs du Mal printed in Brussels in 1869. This slim, much sought-after booklet gives all the pieces condemned in 1857; it is bound with its cover at the end of the first volume. A very fine copy bound in imitation of the period by Pierre-Lucien Martin. From the libraries of René Rouzaud (1905-1976), famous lyricist, sung notably by Édith Piaf, with ex-libris La Goualante; and Jacques or Gilles Barnaud, with ex-libris "B" in green.
