First edition of this fine work written for the centenary of the Grand Condé's campaign in Holland. It is illustrated with a title-frontispiece by Desrais engraved by Patas, an off-text allegorical composition by de Favane by the same artist containing a portrait of the king, an equestrian portrait of the Grand Condé by Moëtte after Godefroy and 40 off-text plates engraved in intaglio, double or folding, assembled by the chevalier de Beaurain, geographer to the king - namely: 4 general maps of Holland, the Rhine, Franche-Comté and the Catholic Netherlands, 34 double-page military maps with coloured borders and strategic elements, a double-page view of the Château d'Argenteau and a plan of the Fort and Château de Navague. The text is further decorated with 2 large engraved culs-de-lampe, 2 head vignettes and 2 decorated lettrines by Desrais and Norbelin engraved on copper by Patas and Moëtte. Copy complete with list of subscribers and errata. As required by the notice to the bookbinder, the volume has been entirely mounted on tabs. Maps enhanced in ink or coloured pencil.
