In-8, brown morocco, framed with gilt fillet, boards decorated with a vast cold-stamped decoration cut into rectangular compartments, those at the corners containing a circle of mosaic olive morocco surrounded by gilt fillet, two plates in the centre representing a frieze of birds and foliage, spine decorated with gilt boxes with corner florets containing a cold fleuron, double fillet on the edges, wide gilt inner border, gilt head, cover and spine, slipcase (Vermorel). Illustrated with colour compositions by Robert Engels, and a repeated frame on each page, with gilt lettering, headpieces and endpapers. Edition of 650 copies on japon, this one of 500 copies without the additional suite. Beautiful binding by Vermorel, entirely blind-stamped with Gothic motifs.
