[BEHOURT (Jean). Puriores sententiae, cum dictis festivioribus in usum pueritiae, ex Ovidio excerptae. Paris, Cramoisy et Chappelet, 1621. Small in-8 half brown basane, spine ribbed and decorated, gilt title, date on tail (late 19th c. binding). Holes and wormholes in margins. Light spotting in places. Jean BEHOURT, Regent of the Collège des Bons-Enfants, Rouen, grammarian and playwright, born in this town towards the middle of the 16th century, and died at the beginning of the following century. In 1607, in 1 large vol. in-8, he composed an abridgement of the Latin grammar of Despautère, a work which was in turn abridged, and which was used for a long time in classes.
