A fine album of printed silk swatches for fashion, dated 1891, featuring prints on taffeta, twill and faille, mainly, including numerous monochrome designs printed using the resist technique. Airy floral compositions including lily of the valley, thistles, ferns and grasses, Japonism, graphic abstractions and paisley patterns. Approximately 240 samples (some missing from the album; binding damaged), averaging 9.5 x 10.5 cm.
