Reunion of 2 albums of old photographs on Belgium and the Belgian army during the First World War. 2 volumes, in-8° and in-12, bound in black half-chagrin with corners, spine ribbed and gilt with crowned imperial numeral N, fillet stamped on boards, gilt edges. Binding signed H. Wood. Each book contains 22 and 23 captioned photographs respectively. The large format has handwritten captions, while the in-12 format has printed and dated captions. A very interesting visual record of Belgium during the First World War.
Ex-libris of Charles Cormeau and Jean Heuse in one of the albums, and one in the form of a stamp with the crowned figure M.C. of Marie Clotilde Bonaparte.
Provenance: Collection of Princess Marie-Clotilde Bonaparte, Countess of Witt, which has remained in the family to this day.
