A fine luxury model senior naval officer's or admiral's sword. Spotted horn butt with filigree. Mounted in chased brass with matt gilding. Flower-shaped pommel decorated with shell and laurel. Single-branch hilt wrapped with cordage and surmounted by laurels. Keyboard with navy anchor on a cluster of 4 flags, framed by a branch of oak leaves and laurel, quillon in shell. Folding counter-keyboard, chased in the round with a beamed anchor, shell and garlands of leaves and flowers. The blade is straight, triangular and hollowed out, made by Coulaux & Cie in Klingenthal. Leather scabbard with two cut, chased and gilded brass fittings, decorated with foliage. B.E. circa 1880. Made to order.
