New edition of this account of a voyage to Turkey, Egypt, Palestine and Syria, originally published in 1553. It is illustrated with a portrait of the author and 44 woodcut figures in the text, depicting plants and animals, as well as costumes and two views of Alexandria and the Hellespont. The folded map of Mount Sinai is missing, as is often the case. Binding stained and loose, endpapers renewed, foxing and stains in the text, small tears but not missing.
