[BENOIST (Élie). Avec ce qui a suivi ce nouvel édit jusqu'à présent. Delft, Adrien Beman, 1693-1695. 5 volumes in-4, grained calf, spine decorated, edges mottled (Binding of the period). First edition of this key source for the history of French Protestantism. A pastor in Alençon, Élie Benoist (1640-1728) emigrated with most of his followers to Delft when the Edict of Nantes was revoked. Involved in the negotiations, he defended his co-religionists. An unsigned intaglio engraved title-frontispiece. An elegant copy from the library of Duke Frédéric-Auguste of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel-Œls (1740-1805), with armorial bookplate.
