A student at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice under Ettore Tito, he was influenced by Segantini's Divisionism, but did not succumb to it. His painting was of a naturalistic type, carried out with freedom and naturalness, and his images were initially delicate, idyllic and expressed in light colours. Following a stay in the Asiago Highlands, his palette drew inspiration for larger and rougher works and his technique also became more robust. From 1894 he exhibited in the most important Italian and foreign exhibitions: his works are in the Galleria d'Arte Moderne in Venice, the Museum of Barcelona, the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Rome and various private collections.
