In-4° leaves, in folder with gilt silk endpapers, publisher's slipcase. This harmonious book required 2800 woodcuts by the artist to illustrate the 250 figures, letters and initials, all coloured. This edition of 130 copies on specially watermarked Montval paper was commissioned by the Lyon bookseller Gellerat. The work is complete with the folding plan of the illustration, and is enriched with an ORIGINAL signed AQUARELLE and the publication specimen. Slipcase and folder a little worn, rare spotting.
