Large in-8, stamped saddle-skin on wood, triple framed with roulettes of portraits, biblical scenes and foliage, four-ribbed spine, metal clasps (Germanic binding of the period). Christophe Plantin's first separate edition of the New Testament in Greek and Latin, based on Arias Montano's polyglot Bible published from 1568 to 1573 by the Antwerp printer. Printed in a more manageable and less expensive format, it was intended for students. A fine copy bound in stamped saddle leather, complete with clasps.
