Lot no. 310
Biblia sacra, integrum utriusque testamenti corpus complectens, diligenter recognita et emendata, cum comcordantüs simul et argumentis: cumque juris canonici allegationibus passim adnotatis [...]. Paris, Thielman Kerver, [1549 ?]. In-8, printed in gothic script, 58 lines per page on 2 columns. Beautiful edition by Yolande Bonhomme, Kerver's widow, illustrated with 2 full-page woodcuts "Adam et Eve chassés du paradis terrestre" and "L'arbre de Jessé - Généalogie du Christ" and numerous engraved initials. Bound in full contemporary tan calf with metal clasps, the boards decorated with a central gilt medallion and a headband bearing the names "F. Renatus" and "Richard", 5 ribbed spine. (copy probably incomplete of the last leaf with the printer's mark, a few handwritten annotations, very worn binding with missing leather and stains, traces and small hole in the last leaves probably due to oxidation of the clasps). (Expert: Nicolas Asvisio, Antiquarian and modern books, Librairie La Fauconnerie)
