ADMISSION TICKET FOR THE RELIGIOUS WEDDING CEREMONY OF EMPEROR NAPOLEON I AND ARCHIDUCHESSE MARIE-LOUISE For a man, for the gallery of the Musée du Louvre: "You will enter via the two external staircases of the Pavillon de l'Horloge on the quay side and the rue des Orties. The door will open at seven o'clock and close at noon. The men will wear French clothes. Stamp of the grand master of ceremonies "Ségur" and mark with the Great Arms of the Empire. 12 x 9 cm B.E. First Empire period (1810) Provenance : Former Napoleonic collection of the Prince's Palace of Monaco (3rd sale, lot 199) An entry ticket for the ceremony of the religious wedding of the Emperor Napoleon I and the archduchess Marie-Louise Commentary: On 2 April 1810, the religious wedding of Emperor Napoleon I and Empress Marie Louise took place in the Salon Carré of the Louvre, transformed for the occasion into a chapel by the architect Fontaine, on the instructions of Isabey. In the evening, a grand wedding banquet was held in the auditorium of the Tuileries Palace, which had been transformed into a party hall. On 3 April, the day after the wedding, a reception was held in the throne room. Surrounded by princes, princesses and the Court, the Emperor and Empress received the tributes and congratulations of the Corps de l'État.
