First edition, illustrated with an allegorical frontispiece after Garand and 60 plates out of text of instruments and notated music, all engraved in intaglio by Pierre Chenu (plates nos. 1, 5, 14, 15, 18, 32, 36, 40 and 49 do not exist). Headbands foxed, spines split, top of first cover a little faded, some plates and leaves slightly foxed.
