Engraved frontispiece by Jan Luyken, 3 ff., 496 pp. First edition of this treatise on comparative anatomy, the first of its kind. Gérard Blasius (or Blaes) (1625-1692), a Dutch physician and anatomist, compares older and more recent writings on this subject. The section on dog anatomy is particularly important (pp. 21 to 41). 5 engraved plates hors-texte and 60 engraved full-page plates with text on verso.
