In the centre, so-called kakiemon decoration of a bound rice straw hedge with bamboo stalks and vines. Squirrel flying in the air. Below a so-called chequered pattern (or brocade pattern) in the Imari style of squares with various brocade ornaments and lotus blossoms. Sword mark. 27.5 cm x 18 cm. A Kakiemon style porcelain plate with zigzag border, finely painted with chess-board and squirrel pattern. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. Late 20th century.
