BLÉMONT Émile Petitdidier, known as (1839-1927). Alphabet symbolique. Paris, Lemerre, 1895; in-8 bradel half red morocco, cover printed in red and illustrated in green (Patrice Goy). First edition. The author is one of the characters in "Le coin de table", Fantin-Latour's famous 1872 painting of eight precursors of Symbolism, including Verlaine, Rimbaud and Blémont.
The symbolic primer is illustrated with 24 compositions in orange lettering by Auguste Hiolle.
☞ Talvart announced an edition of 500 copies, but this book is extremely rare.
