First edition, a fresh copy with the plates in excellent condition. Count de Borch visited Sicily between 1776 and 1777 and produced this highly detailed account of the region, both in terms of nature and ethnography.
2 parts in 1 volume, (195 x 120 mm). Copper-engraved vignettes to titles, 26 engraved plates (some folding) and 3 folding engraved maps (light browning). Bound in contemporary calf, spine gilt, gilt lettering-piece to spine (worn). Provenance: 'Ant. Paris. 1898'; 'L'Abbé A. Longin, Bone, Algeria' (late 19th-century bookplate). (2)
