Tapestry borders from the hanging of Antony and Cleopatra, Brussels workshops, 17th century,
woven tapestry in wool and polychrome silk, the cartoons attributed to Juste d'Egmont (1601-1674). Rising borders decorated with cups of flowers and fruit, a spread bird and bears picking roses and tulips from a garland of flowers tied at the top. Upper transverse border with cartouche from the tapestry narrating the Suicide of Antony, (wear, missing ends).

Upper border: H. 43 cm - W. 209 cm RMH
Provenance: these borders are identical to those on the four tapestries in the hanging in the Grand Salon at Château de Vizille, from which they originate. Acquired before 1984.
