THE. BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA. A Bosnian kneeling on the right, bringing gifts to France and Bosnia standing on the left. Behind them the cities of Paris and Sarajevo. In the corners, below, the shields of Paris and Bosnia-Herzegovina; on the right signature H. KAUTSCH 1900. Rv. The Exhibition pavilion behind intertwined laurel and rose branches bearing a ribbon inscribed PAX 1900. In the exergue the inscription in three lines LA. BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA. A. L'EXPOSITION. UNIVERSELLE and signature H. KAUTSCH. Forrer III pp.126-130 - Maier p.130 ; Silver plated bronze - 185,8 g - 81 mm - 12 h From the collection of M. and C. A., Collin du Bocage sale, expert S. Sombart, 8 December 2014, no. 294. In its original case. Medal consisting of two plates welded in silver-plated bronze, according to the manufacturing techniques of the period. Nice grey patina for this remarkable composition. Superb at Fleur de coin. Heinrich Kautsch (1859-1943), of Austrian origin, learned the engraving trade from his father, a goldsmith. He studied in Vienna, Prague and various other capitals. He was a member of the Jury at the Chicago Exhibition in 1893, as well as at the 1900 Paris Exhibition, as vice-president of the Jury (class 97) and a member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina commission, for which he produced this plaque.
