THE DELICACY OF THE DECORATION, THE FINESSE OF THE AGATE All these qualities are present in this precious bonbonnière. The frieze with its sharp "modern" colours of sky blue and orange, underlined by fillets of white enamel and this "geometry to the rescue of short hair", a subtle title by Gilles Neret that gives us a summary of the Art Deco style to meet the new woman of that era. As always, it was a jeweller in town who supplied the elaborate models. This time it was the Atelier de François Bass that produced the object. The hallmark dates back to 1928, giving a fairly precise date for its manufacture. An agate, enamel and 18K yellow gold bonbonnière. Signed, François Bass maker's mark. Gross weight : 184,80 g. Diameter : 7,7 cm. Reference : NERET Gilles, Boucheron, histoire d'une dynastie de joailliers, Editions Pont Royal 1988, page 99, an oval box, diamonds and emeralds on grey agate is illustrated.
