[BOUCHET (Jean). Triomphes du très-chrestien, très puissant et invictissime roy de France François premier de ce nom, contenant la différence des Nobles. Poitiers, à l'enseigne du Pelican, Jean et Enguilbert de Marnef, 1550. In-folio, blue morocco, triple frame of gilt fillets with azure fleurons in the corners and cold fleur-de-lis in the centre, gilt interlacing medallions in the centre, ornate spine, inner lace, gilt edges (Lortic). First edition of the last work by Jean Bouchet (1476-1557), a long eulogy of King François I in decasyllabic verse. His name is not printed on the title, but appears at the end of the dedicatory epistle to Henry II. The volume was lavishly printed in italics by Jean and Enguilbert de Marnef. The printer's proof bears the date 12 August 1549. The edition was reissued in 1565 by the same booksellers in Poitou under a different title: Le Parc de noblesse. A very fine copy, finely bound by Lortic. From the library of E. Cesbron, with bookplate.
