First edition of this very rare suite, complete with 30 lithographs by Frédéric Bouchot (IFF, no. 32), each captioned with a short dialogue humorously underlining the hypocrisy of social conventions. Proofs finely coloured and gummed at the time. A very fine copy in a luxurious contemporary binding. A 16-page publisher's catalogue is bound at the end of the volume. Small tear repaired in the margin of three plates. Binding skilfully restored.
