Lot no. 425
BOURGOGNE - Domaine Georges Roumier, Chambolle Musigny, Les Cras, 2004, Magnum.
1 bottle of 150 cl
Please note:
The wines of the Geaorges Roumier estate are the result of precise know-how and controlled vinification in wooden vats, and are distinguished by their freshness and aromatic purity. The grand vin of Chambolle-Musigny, renowned for its silkiness, offers a delicate expression of pinot noir, combining structure and depth. It is a perfect reflection of the Chambolle terroir, where the subtlety of the tannins and the complexity of the aromas of red fruit, spices and flowers are expressed with rare elegance. Without doubt the largest vineyard of Chambolle Musigny. Musigny de Roumier (whose vines date back to 1934) is a rare and legendary wine, with an annual production of just a few hundred bottles. Its quality and rarity have made it one of the most sought-after and expensive wines in Burgundy, alongside Domaine de la Romanée Conti and Domaine Leroy.
Domaine Georges Roumier was founded by Georges Roumier in 1924. It was Georges who initiated bottling at the estate in 1945, a tradition carried on by his son Jean-Marie, and from 1982 by the latter's son Christophe. Christophe is still at the helm today. The estate's portfolio includes some of Burgundy's finest appellations, including the Grands Crus of Chambolle - Bonnes-Mares and Musigny - as well as two of the finest Premier Crus of Chambolle: Les Cras and Les Amoureuses.
