The general design of this bracelet is based on a Scythian prototype preserved in the Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg, discovered in 1869 in the Temir-Gora burial mound, dating from the 4th century BC, near Kerch, Crimea [later addition by Gere et al 1984: formerly Russian Empire, Ukraine since 1991] (inv. no. TG..6 | D9,2 cm).
