Kayapo bracelet made from plant fibres woven in a traditional two-tone geometric pattern, blue thread, seeds, glass beads and natural orange-red feathers, Brazilian Amazon, 20th c., framed (frame: 41.7x25.5 cm). This type of armband is typical of the Kayapo's ornamental aesthetic, used in a variety of bodily expressions, whether in ceremonial contexts or as objects produced for cultural enhancement and exchange. Very fine workmanship, in a beautiful custom-made black frame that brings out the freshness of the colours. Very good condition Some signs of use on the inside of the bracelet, notably on the blue thread on the braid used to hang the ornaments.
