SPIRAL CUFF Formed by a thick stem ending in spirals, one larger than the other. It was during the Bronze Age in the North, and also in Mycenaean art, that the spiral took on its greatest development. When used in conjunction with others, it is an extremely pure ornamental motif, and sometimes very complicated in its arrangements. Bronze with water-green patina. H. 10 cm; D. 7.5 cm. Very fine patina and conservation. Late Bronze Age, 1st millennium BC A Late Bronze Age spiral arm bracelet. Formed of a thick stem with a central rib separating into two spirals, one larger than the other. It is in the Bronze Age in the North and also in Mycenaean art, that the spiral takes its greatest development; when it is attached to others, it constitutes an extremely pure ornamental motif, and sometimes very complicated in its arrangements. 1st Millennium BCE.
