BRITISH 1845 PATTERN VICTORIAN INFANTRY OFFICERS SWORD BY WK & C.
Ca. 1883 - 1901. A Victorian British 1845 pattern infantry officer's sword made with a blade made by the Solingen firm WK&C. The blade is single fullered, with a crowned ‘VR’ and scrolling foliage etched on both sides of the blade. The right ricasso bears the proof mark, whilst the left side is etched with the twin logos of the WK&C firm. Some looseness in the handle furniture and severe pitting to the blade. Size: 990mm x 130mm; Weight: 660g Provenance: From the private collection of an Essex gentleman; previously in an old British Collection, formed in the 1980s.
