BRITISH LIFE GUARDS MILITARY DRUM.
Ca. 18th Century AD or later. A military snare drum from the Life Guards regiment, the most senior regiment in the British Army. Painted on the front is the regiment’s name atop an unfurled banner, in the centre of which is a crowned cipher of a British monarch, possibly Queen Anne. The drumheads remain tight. Included within this lot is a pair of wooden drumsticks. Size: 330mm x 220mm; Weight: 1.4kg Provenance: Property of a European collector; Ex. British collection, 1980s- 1990s.
