BRUCE (Charles Granville). Kashmir. Peeps at Many Lands. London, A. & C. Black,1915. In-12, publisher's illustrated cloth binding. Second edition, illustrated with a map and 12 coloured plates. A good descriptive work of this Himalayan region shared by India, Pakistan and China, who are fighting over this territory, which was under British administration in Bruce's time.
Charles Granville Bruce (1866-1939), an officer in the Indian Army (he ended his career with the rank of General), made many expeditions to the Himalayas. He accompanied Conway to the Karakoram and Mummery to Nanga Parbat, and led the 1922 and 1924 Everest expeditions.

- LANDOR (Henry Savage): Tibet and Nepal. London, A. & C. Black, 1905. In-8°, publisher's decorated cloth binding. First edition, illustrated with a map and 75 photographs. An account of the author's 1899 trip to Nepal, during which he claimed to have climbed Mount Api (an isolated 7132 m peak on the eastern edge of the Gharwal). This difficult peak was not actually conquered until 1954 by an Italian expedition led by P. Ghiglione, during which the mountaineer Barenghi was killed. Handwritten bookplate on title page.
- ESCARRA (Jean): Images de l'Himalaya. Paris, Alpina, 1935. Large in-4°, leaves in illustrated cover. First edition, illustrated with 40 hors-texte plates (superb photographs by Vittorio Sella). Album on the Karakoram produced at the end of a reconnaissance mission in preparation for the French expedition of 1936.
- LANGUEPIN (Jean-Jacques): Nanda Devi. 3rd French expedition to the Himalayas. Grenoble, Arthaud, coll. Belles pages, belles couleurs, 1952. In-4°, publisher's illustrated hardback based on a model by Claude Arthaud. First edition, illustrated with numerous black and colour photographs. The illustrated account of the 1951 French expedition to the Nanda Devi; this expedition, which aimed to traverse from the West summit to the East summit, ended with the death of Roger Duplat and Gilbert Vignes, the leaders of Lyon's mountaineering movement.
- HERZOG (Maurice): Regards vers l'Annapurna. In-4°. Grenoble, Arthaud, coll. Belles pages, belles couleurs, 1951. In-4°, paperback, illustrated cover. First edition, illustrated with numerous black and colour photographs, most by Marcel Ichac. The photo album of the victorious French expedition to Annapurna. Publisher's tribute copy, signed on the title page by Lionel Terray and Louis Lachenal.
